Duggatasutta
Dutiyavagga Duggatasutta Ekaṁ samayaṁ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṁ viharati. Tatra kho …pe… “Anamataggoyaṁ, bhikkhave, saṁsāro.
At one time, the Blessed One was residing in Sāvatthī. There, he addressed the disciples, saying: Disciples, the cycle of existence (saṁsāra) is without a beginning.
Pubbā koṭi na paññāyati avijjānīvaraṇānaṁ sattānaṁ taṇhāsaṁyojanānaṁ sandhāvataṁ saṁsarataṁ.
The first point of origin is not discernible for beings who are enveloped in ignorance and bound by craving, as they wander and cycle through existence.
Yaṁ, bhikkhave, passeyyātha duggataṁ durūpetaṁ niṭṭhamettha gantabbaṁ: ‘amhehipi evarūpaṁ paccanubhūtaṁ iminā dīghena addhunā’ti.
What should be seen as unfortunate and difficult to bear? It is this: We too have experienced such suffering and hardship for a long time.

What is the reason for this?
yāvañcidaṁ, bhikkhave, alameva sabbasaṅkhāresu nibbindituṁ alaṁ virajjituṁ alaṁ vimuccitun”ti. Paṭhamaṁ.
Disciples, it is sufficient to be disenchanted with all formations, to be dispassionate, and to be liberated.
